The El Paso Collaborative for Academic Excellence will launch an Education Leadership Speakers Series to provide area educators with national perspectives on key education issues.
Henry Levin, director of the National Center for the Privatization in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Tom·s Rivera Conference Center, Union Building East, Third Floor.
The professor of economics and education is a nationally known specialist on the economics of education. For more than a decade, Levin has dedicated himself to the establishment and development of the Accelerated Schools Project, a national school reform initiative designed to create schools that provide enriched and accelerated learning opportunities throughout the curriculum for all students. There are more than 1,000 accelerated elementary and secondary schools in 40 U.S. states, Australia, Canada, Brazil and Hong Kong.
